Expansion Draft: Buffalo Sabres
Buffalo Sabres as no surprise has one of the least talented set of available players out of the 30 pending teams for this week’s expansion draft. The best players on that list with no regards to salary are Matt Mouslon, Zach Bogosian and Cody Franson. Vegas has the intent of going young and although there is a cap floor that needs to be reached I do not believe any of these players will be chosen with the exception of Cody Franson. Cody was widely known to have mass potential with the signing two years ago to Buffalo however, it is unclear if he will be a good fit. I believe the choice of the Buffalo Sabres will be the goaltender Linus Ullmark. He will be 24 next month, he has played just over 20 NHL games and could still use some time in the AHL but has potential to be an NHL starter one day. Vegas is able to keep him in the AHL next year until he becomes an UFA but the simple fact isunless some other team is pressuring them into picking a player than I think Ullmark is the most safe and viable option.
