Disclosure: this is all hypothetical and just for fun and let’s leave the financials and salary cap out of it…

It is no secret that the Edmonton Oilers are far off from the success they carried in their previous season. Last year, the Oilers were one goal away from advancing to the Western Conference Finals. Fast forward to this year and you can find Edmonton way down in the basement of the Western Conference, buried somewhere near your old marble collection. With 50 points through 57 games, the Oilers management have decided to shake things up and trade their superstar to adapt to a more well rounded, team style of play.

Here are 3 Possible landing spots for the generational talent, Connor McDavid:

Nashville Predators

The Preds are hungry and laying all their chips on the table. This is the year they get their revenge and prove to the hockey world just how good they are. After pulling a few strings, Nashville will once and for all, fill that number one center spot they have been seeming to be missing for years.

The trade:

Nashville Predators receive:                                            Edmonton Oilers receive:

Connor McDavid, C                                                                       Eeli Tolvanen, LW

                                                                                                       1st round 2021 draft pick

Toronto Maple Leafs

Oh please, do we even need to discuss this one. The Leafs are the most exciting, fast paced, finesse team to watch… now imagine they traded a few cornerstone pieces for McDavid himself… I think it is safe to say the Stanley Cup would be theirs. (just take it Mike Babcock)

New Jersey Devils

The Devils are back. The newly retooled organization is looking to make some noise coming out of the Eastern Conference. McDavid would fit right into this high speed and skilled team that is just filled with young talent. Sitting in the first wild card spot in the East, the Devils are looking to add some scoring up front come trade deadline time.
